Donation to USS 797 Iowa Caps off Summer Beer & BBQ Promotion

(Kellogg, Iowa) – Team members from Cookies Food Products were joined by representatives from Big Grove Brewery and Iowa Pork to share a donation of $10,000 with the USS Iowa SSN 797 Commissioning Team and the US Navy Biking Team along the RAGBRAI route. A collaborative summer retail promotion, Iowa Backyard Beer & BBQ, helped raise these important dollars that will support the nation’s sailors with necessary amenities aboard the new nuclear submarine that bears the state of Iowa’s name. The ship was commissioned on June 17, 2023, in Groton, CT, and a christening is being planned for early 2023, followed by sea trials.
Cookies Food Products also donated products to the “Fed By Farmers” tent all week long along the RAGBRAI route. Riders enjoyed Cookies BBQ sauces on brats prepared by Iowa Pork and Cookies Flavor Enhancer on sweet corn donated by the Iowa Corn Growers Association.
